It’s been a wonderful, fruitful month… I’m soo much closer to the End of the Book now—The story is so much clearer on the page and in my mind than it has ever been before—And I’m much, much closer to finally scaling that un-scalable mountain I’ve been blogging about ever since my very first post.
I bet if I hadn’t had the gall to run this event and the stubborn-ness to stick with it to the end of March, I’d still be at least 10,000 words ago. I bet if I hadn’t had the audacity to start blogging about writing, I’d still be stuck way back on a rudimentary version of chapter 5. Cirellio would probably still be stuck in the middle of the Shiirati Desert, wondering what the heck to do next. Now … it all seems like so long ago. I bet if I didn’t have the support of all the great people that visit this site, I wouldn’t be feeling too good about my writing; I might’ve called it quits by now. This whole experience has been magical for me, so thank you!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow marks the final day of the Novel Push Initiative. And the final word count. Get that wine ready!
;)

The end of the month is so close.
So I guess I’ll be taking on NaNo later on in the year after all. We’ll have to see how well I work under a lot more pressure than NPI had to offer. NaNoWriMo’s daily deadlines are much like Bradbury’s coin-op typewriter. But, I won’t have to worry about that ‘til November.

I was doing summary posts every five days, but since there’s only two of us left, I think I’ll make one more summary post on the 31st.

It’s a coincidence I typed the same number of words today as the number of Arabian Nights :).

Had a long day today and am feeling a bit sleepy.

LOL~ It was exactly 251 the first time I checked, and for tonight, that’s good enough for me.

Welcome to March 20th. Here we are, surprised it’s already this far into the month. I think the next eleven days should be the easiest. Once you get past a certain point, there’s a momentum that you achieve, making it much harder to quit.
Packsister decided to go about continuing her werewolf novel in her own way. She willingly took a knock-out on the fifteenth, which—as RG so eloquently put it—anybody would’ve done the same if they felt like an event was compromising the quality of their work.

Scene 51, in which Aeriallas is finally introduced. She’s fishing at a lake, and Cirellio sits down nearby, staring at the reflection of the mountains in the water, and begins to talk with her about what’s been bothering him—something he’d never do at the beginning of the book.
This is another one of those scenes that gives me the feeling many of the characters in Five Rings are growing and maturing, and at their best during simple times like this.

Huzzah! I made it. I’ve exceeded two straight weeks of writing every day. That’s a long way from worrying about whether or not I’d even make it past the first day.
Today was a rough one. I’m in the most uncertain, cloudy part of my story. On top of that, I didn’t feel like writing dialogue at all, so I wrote what was discussed instead. Laziness? Maybe. But that’s the way it is for now and there’s always revisions.

Here we are at March 15th already. Great job!
This is the moment of truth. Can we continue to write each day beyond the two-week point? It gets tougher and tougher from here on out. … Can we go the full thirty-one days?
I know that if I can write my quota today, I’ll have broken my own personal record.
With that in mind, today is that special day—the threshold which must be broken!
Packsister is still in it, plugging away at her werewolf novel. In fact, she’s broken the 10k mark! Let’s see how she’s doing:

Whew, almost didn’t make it today. One thing lead to another to where I’ve been gone from home since this morning. And it was looking like my friends wanted to hang out ‘til after midnight.
I had to make that tough decision to leave the fun, go home early, and write.
A sacrifice for the craft, but I’m glad I made it. After all, this marks two weeks exactly of writing every day. One more day and I’ll have broken my personal record for consecutive days writing.
