Welcome to March 20th. Here we are, surprised it’s already this far into the month. I think the next eleven days should be the easiest. Once you get past a certain point, there’s a momentum that you achieve, making it much harder to quit.
1.
packsister:
Packsister decided to go about continuing her werewolf novel in her own way. She willingly took a knock-out on the fifteenth, which—as RG so eloquently put it—anybody would’ve done the same if they felt like an event was compromising the quality of their work.
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 12,268.
March…
15th: Knock-out @ 0 words.
Final Total Word Count: 12,268!
Since the minimum wordcount she could’ve settled for was 7,750, there’s no denying she kicked butt this month. I hope she finds that all the writing she did for NPI comes in handy as she completes her book.
2.
RG Sanders:
RG Sanders is still in NPI and kicking butt, adding more to And the Stars Ran Red. Exciting plot is developing in his story every day.
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 9,247.
15th: Check-in @ 349 words.
16th: Check-in @ 576 words.
17th: Check-in @ 491 words.
18th: Check-in @ 788 words.
19th: Check-in @ 669 words.
Total so far: 12,120!
RG is only 148 words shy of packsister’s total at this point. But the fact that, five days later, we still haven’t caught up with packsister is a testament to how quickly she worked during NPI.
It seems the most common entry is not an ‘update’, like I had originally speculated last month, but a check-in. I must admit—and I think RG is finding this too—that Check-ins are where consistent writing stays the most comfortable.
3.
Nick Enlowe:
More words for Five Rings, too. Did I even manage to break 10k yet? I honestly have no idea. … (I don’t keep track of my total WC as I go.)
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 7,339.
15th: Check-in @ 404 words.
16th: Check-in @ 364 words.
17th: Check-in @ 834 words.
18th: Check-in @ 373 words.
19th: Check-in @ 482 words.
Total so far: 9,796!
Oooh. So close. Well, I’ll definitely break 10k. Nothing can stop me, now! I’m so close to the end of the month, I can smell it. –(On that note, I wish I could smell the end of my book at this point, but I can’t. Not yet, anyway. Still lots of writing lays ahead, well beyond the stretches of March.)

Well RG, guess it’s just you and me now! :)

Only eleven days to go though, so I’m sure we can do it!

By the way, remember I asked about what we should do if our internet disappears? Well, right on the clue: I left the NPI and my internet disappeared for 4 full days. Hehehe. It’s back only now and I’m really glad to see both you and RG kicking some butt in my absense!

Well maybe I’d make a special exception for prolonged outages like that… yipes.
Good to see you back in cyberspace’s orbit. :)
