Another NPI in May?

Posted: April 14th, 2009 under writing.
Tags: Five Rings, novel, NPI

After some deliberation, we’re going to try the Novel-Push Initiative again.

There was some concern that I’ll be leaving on a trip in late May, so my personal goal will be to finish the rough draft of Five Rings before I go. I believe it’s a reachable goal, but there’s only one way to find out for sure, :)

This time, the minimum word limit will be amped up, +100, to 350 words per day. Let me know if you’d like to join up, I’d love to have you along.  It’s a ride you’ll never forget.

  3. ‘course. I’ll be aiming for that general number in a day in May, so why not.

  5. @Merrilee: Absolutely, welcome aboard! Is your current book project untitled/secret? The maps you made look really cool.

I’ll be rehashing the rules for May’s Novel-Push Initiative soon, but basically it’s just: write>=350 words per day, not missing any days. I know at least christopher will be joining us (right?) :) Maybe even Trina if she feels like taking a stab at freewriting.

  6. Thanks Nick :) I enjoyed making those maps. I was actually thinking of a short, but you reminded me about poor Rebel and Traitor, that tumbled into a messy tangle and got put down. I think I will pick it up again for the NPI; I did love the story and the characters. Time to dust it off and start again :)

  7. I’ll be joining. Right now, I’m not getting nearly as much prep work done on my novel as I would like, and my mom will be visiting the weekend of the 9th, but I will definitely give it a go.

  8. I will not be joining, but will hope for the continued success of all of you and this project. ^_^ (I -finally- graduate that month. With all the out of town family passing through it would be a fool’s hope for me to even attempt. Maybe next time.)

  9. Thanks Darcy, it’s good to have your support. maybe you can join us next time, right? Grats on the graduation!

  10. I’m in. My work in progress is titled HALCYON and I’m only 12,000 words along so far. This will be my fourth novel, assuming I finish it.

  11. Fourth novel? Only 12,000 words? Please, right this way, sir. And welcome aboard.
    :)

  13. Hey, Nick! So wonderful to see how many people are joining you this time. The first run must have made an impression! Sadly, I won’t be joining in because as it seems, at the moment I’m without a project. I’ll be taking the first steps on the way of creating a world while the rest of you guys will be digging deeper and deeper into your stories. Still, I’ll be following your success with as much interest as I did last time, when I was in it myself. Have a lot of fun, guys!
