Okay! Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve crossed the finish line! The checkered flags have been waved, we’re less moody, our wives are happier, we’ve officially got all the word-counts, and boy, does it feel great~!
Now for the fun part: Taking a day off (And seeing how many words we’ve produced).
I haven’t done an NPI tally since the 20th, so this’ll be over the past ELEVEN days. Math, don’t fail me now!
1.
RG Sanders:
I’m 99.99999 percent sure RG kept a strong lead and stayed in first place over the last eleven days. His final push for victory lane was inspiring—but not quite inspiring enough for me to try and beat him—Second is the new first, you know. ;)
Now where does he stand? How many words strong is And the Stars Ran Red?
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 12,120.
March:
20th: Check-in @ 732 words.
21st: Check-in @ 270 words.
22nd: Check-in @ 261 words.
23rd: Check-in @ 267 words.
24th: Check-in @ 792 words.
25th: Check-in @ 347 words.
26th: Update @ 1,007 words.
27th: Check-in @ 800 words.

30th: Check-in @ 827 words.
31st: Tougher-than-NaNo @ 2,176 words.
The TOTAL: 20,251!!!
Whew! RG Sanders shattered my expectations with a whopping 20k words of quality work in a 31 day period. His book went from ideas to reality at such a rapid rate, it was so interesting to read along on his blog as it transformed before our very eyes.
He got his 2k push at the end, just like me; Once you see that finish line, especially on the last day, something possesses you: you get a second wind.
I think he deserves a big congratulations from all of us! Excellent, excellent job. I commend him for sticking with this to the end, even through all the tough times.
His average number of words per day was: 653.
2.
Nick Enlowe:
I guess I’m next. Last time I checked, I was just shy of 10k. I’m probably still floundering around in last place, but let’s find out. :)

21st: Check-in @ 251 words.
22nd: Check-in @ 613 words.
23rd: Update @ 1,001 words.
24th: Check-in @ 679 words.
25th: Check-in @ 459 words.
26th: Check-in @ 669 words.
27th: Check-in @ 379 words.
28th: Check-in @ 423 words.
29th: Check-in @ 339 words.
30th: Check-in @ 512 words.
31st: Tougher-than-NaNo @ 2,011 words.
Now, where’s that calculator… Ah, here it is.
The TOTAL: 16,763!!!
Not too shabby! I was mostly hoping I broke 15k last month. I’m so glad I did. I wasn’t too far away from 17k, really. Too bad these blog posts don’t count towards the total, eh?
I averaged 540 words per day.
~~~~~
Together with packsister’s 12,268, we have… (drumroll)
The GRAND TOTAL: 49,282!!!
Hehe. I feel like I’m on a telethon. We were just 718 words short of 50k. xD
Well, next time we’ll just have to try harder, won’t we? WONT WE??!?
*tosses a bouquet of roses at RG Sanders and runs off*
Hummmmm… Not sure yet. What does christopher think? Does he still want to do this in May with an amped minimum word count? 400 words? 500 words? Maybe we should discuss this in the forums? :o
Maybe ones of these day I’ll have the time to participate in one of these ventures. One day, when school isn’t choking the life out of my desire to write. T_T
